Prof-IT is an independent software house and is founded in 1999 by R.P.B. Prick.
Prof-IT develops custom software for several clients on a project base. This can be fixed-price as well as payment per worked hour. The development is done in-house as well as on location with the client.
Much attention is paid to getting familiar with the business of the client.
After it a global design is made (and if wanted also a functional and technical design). The developing is started after approving of the design by the client.
The client stays involved during all phases of the project and has the chance to keep in control.
Most of the programming is done using Borland Delphi (see tools).
Prof-IT is specialized in developing Client/Server applications, but desktop and distributed (multi tier) applications are also one of the possibilities.
At the moment we see a movement from Client/Server to Intranet/Internet applications.
Prof-IT develops applications which heavily use internet technology and e-commerce applications, like EDI, XML and web server applications.
There is more emphasis on the B2B (Business to Business) market than on the B2C (Business to Consumer) market.
